The area had been well known for paddy cultivation and now land use has changed and it is in the pressures of development. There are three objectives for the study. The first one is to know the availability of surface water. The second is the utility of water for various purposes. The third one is the issues related to the utility of surface water in the area. The Survey of India Toposheet is used as the base map and to prepare drainage map, landuse map and other related maps in Arc GIS software. Water quality is tested to know the issues related to the utility of surface water. The result shows that water sources are available in the area but the utilization of water is in an unsustainable manner. The unscientific use of surface water is reflected in the water quality status.
