The present study is aimed to investigate enzyme studies in the gill and liver tissue of estuary fish Arius maculates exposed to sublethal concentration of efflunts. In the present study, the activity of Acid phosphatase (ACP), alkaline phosphatase(ALP), Glutamate Oxaloacetate Transaminase (GOT) and Glutamate Pyruvate Transaminase (GPT) were observed in the gill and liver tissue. During the sublethal concentration of effluents, the Acid phosphatase, alkaline phosphatase, Glutamate Oxaloacetate Transaminase (GOT) and Glutamate Pyruvate Transaminase (GPT) were increased in the liver tissue. This result indicates the concentration dependent enzyme alterations in both gill and liver tissue of Arius maculates.
