Robotic devices can be used by physical therapists in conjunction with traditional physiotherapy methods. The use of robotic devices holds great promise to enable persons with disabilities to achieve and maintain their functional independence. The goal of therapy robotic aid is to help patients recover from different forms of accidents and maladies. Robotic systems are classified into two categories: Physical therapy training robots and Robotic aids for people with disabilities. Rehabilitation robotics is highly motivating field for locomotor disabled as technology developed will directly help people who are limited in major life activities.
